Get Out Get Active

Get Out Get Active (GOGA) is a programme in Tayside that started in April 2020. GOGA supports disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy being active together.

In Tayside GOGA is a partnership between Scottish Disability Sport and NHS Tayside. All partners are focused on getting some of Tayside's least active people moving more through fun and inclusive activities.

GOGA Tayside's activities are for all levels and abilities and can be adapted to your needs

Winning Weigh groups is an interactive, friendly and fun-filled healthy lifestyle weight management programme for anyone that needs to lose some weight. Be Active, Live Well

An active lifestyle can improve your sense of well-being and help you live better with a longterm condition. Exercise can also:

Reduce blood pressure and improve circulation
Help with better sleep and improve stamina
Reduce stress and lessen anxiety, reduce depression
Lower cholesterol and assist in weight control
Strengthen bones and increase flexibility

Dorothy Dobson

Large groups of people 'around 60' who exercise together, enjoyably and safely. There is 45 minutes of rhythmical, mobilising exercise using all types of music to help tone, stretch and slacken. Tai Chi

Tai Chi provides a moderate intensity aerobic workout for the netire body, taught as a sequence of moves or postures. The effect is to strengthen and exercise every part of the body. Tai Chi also has a soothing effect on the mind. It is suitable for people of all ages and all levels of fitness and mobility. 'Steps Tay Health' Walking Groups

Health walks are designed for individuals interested in becoming more active and meeting new people. A health walk consists of a short, 30 minutes walk around a planned route, in a small group led by a trained, experienced volunteer Walk Leader. Participants can choose their own pace, the walks are suitable for all ability levels. There are walking groups in Forfar, Carnoustie, Arbroath and Letham.
